The program is directed by Ali Oliashirazi, MD [LINK], Professor and Chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. For Dr. Ali, academic excellence and the highest quality orthopedic care go hand in hand. The internationally acclaimed surgeon has cultivated a team of orthopedic surgeons that is unparalleled throughout the region, both in knowledge and in skill.
The joint replacement team believes wholeheartedly in educating each patient about the procedure, recovery and rehabilitation. “We’ve found that the more that the patients and their families know about the operation, the immediate post-operative period and the late post-operative period, the better they will do,” Ali said.
The Joint Replacement Program also welcomes patients with joint replacement problems who require additional surgery for infections, fractures around components or to replace aging components. These often complicated surgeries are performed by Drs. Bullock, Caughran, and Cheung.
