Dr. Ali Oliashirazi

Dr. Oliashirazi has earned continuous national recognition from Healthgrades for over ten years. His team of orthopedic surgeons will assist you every step of the way to help relieve pain, increase mobility, and improve your quality of life.

Dr. OliashiraziDr. Oliashirazi, or "Dr. Ali" as his patients affectionately call him, is an orthopedic surgeon with special interest and expertise in joint replacement and minimally invasive surgery. His other interests include arthroscopy and trauma.

Dr. Ali has developed a world-class joint replacement program staffed by physician specialists who use advanced techniques and state-of-the-art technology. It includes extensive education to prepare his patients about what to expect before, during and after their procedure. Under his leadership, the joint replacement program at Cabell Huntington Hospital:

  • consistently earns high patient satisfaction scores.
  • has been awarded the Gold Seal of Approval™ from the Joint Commission for adhering to the most rigorous standards for quality in hip and knee replacement.
  • has earned continuous national recognition from Healthgrades [LINK].

"These awards and ratings are based on objective data about patient outcomes and complication rates," he said. "When it's time to have a hip or knee replacement or when you need any other kind of orthopedic surgical procedure, you want it done right. Patients look at this data to help them make decisions about where to go for their surgery, and I think that's why patients come to us from many different states. They're willing to travel far — very far — to get the best outcomes."

Dr. Ali meets with his team to develop an individual plan of care for each patient.

Dr. Ali is a graduate of George Washington School of Medicine, where he was valedictorian of his class. He is the past president of the AOA Medical Honor Society at GWU. He received his post-graduate training in orthopedic surgery at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Dr. Ali is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He lectures extensively, and his research has been presented both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Ali is Professor and Chief of Orthopedics at Marshall University School of Medicine as well as the Director of the Mary H. Hodges Joint Replacement Program at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
